Ground Rod Protector (GRP)

Protect your ground rod and your lawn mower blade! Every year 1 in 200 homes are struck by lightning and about one-third of lightning-strike injures occur indoors. The ground rod (usually located by the meter base, if not visible contact us or an electrician to ensure proper meter/panel grounding), is to redirect lightning away from the home/apartment into the ground. If lightning enters the panel, it may damage the circuit board of appliances that contain electronics (TV's, computers, frig, microwaves, etc.) and cause personal injury. The Ground Rod Protector protects exposed ground rod fittings from physical damage, that may cause improper grounding of the dwelling. These damages are caused by lawn mowers, weed eaters and trimmers. The GRP identifies exposed/buried ground rods making the ground rod more visible. This product is designed for do-it-yourselfers and contractors. Easy installation, no messy silicone or hardware needed. This product satisfies Article 250.10 of the National Electrical Code.
